A Iron Mountain Case Study
Primary Wave Music, a leading private music publishing company, acquired the historic Sun Records archive and faced the challenge of preserving its fragile, seventy-year-old audio recordings for a 70th-anniversary re-release. The collection was suffering from degradation and mold contamination. They enlisted Iron Mountain Entertainment Services (IMES) to organize, store, digitize, and restore these priceless assets.
Iron Mountain assessed the collection on-site, then moved it to a secure facility where experts performed physical remediation to remove mold and repair tapes before digitizing the entire archive. This process preserved the legacy of Sun Records for future generations and ensured Primary Wave Music could successfully monetize the assets through new marketing, licensing, and production initiatives.
