A Iron Mountain Case Study
The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum faced the challenge of preserving and providing worldwide access to its vast collection of irreplaceable historical records, documents, videos, and photos while minimizing physical wear and tear. To achieve this, they partnered with Iron Mountain to build and operate a state-of-the-art digital archive, the largest of its kind for a presidential library.
Iron Mountain's solution involved the comprehensive digitization and restoration of the library's audio, video, and physical assets. The vendor also provided secure, off-site backup storage for the digital archive files to protect them from potential disasters. As a result, Iron Mountain successfully preserved JFK’s archival legacy, enhanced the collection's searchability with metadata, and enabled millions of people globally to access the archive online without needing to travel to the physical location.
