A Iron Mountain Case Study

Preview of the Death Row Records Case Study

Death Row Records - Customer Case Study

Death Row Records, a historic record label synonymous with hip hop, engaged Iron Mountain Entertainment Services (IMES) to manage the immense challenge of preserving and digitizing its vast, decades-old archive. The collection included irreplaceable audio and video recordings, hard drive files, and unreleased music from iconic artists, which needed to be organized and secured for future use in music and film projects.

Iron Mountain's solution involved digitizing the assets, extracting content from hard drives, and ingesting everything into their Smart Vault digital media preservation platform. This process made the entire archive both safe and highly searchable. As a result, Iron Mountain successfully preserved the label's archival legacy, enhancing the ability to search and access content for upcoming re-releases and a new docu-series.
