Mellor Primary School, an academy in Stockport serving over 220 pupils, needed to replace a dissatisfactory MIS provider and consolidate multiple back-office systems (MIS, finance, payments, communications, HR and payroll) while meeting strict procurement criteria for cost, functionality, security and efficiency. After evaluating options, Mellor chose IRIS Software Group, adopting products including Ed:gen, Central, IRIS Financials and, more recently, Payroll Services and Every.

IRIS Software Group implemented Ed:gen and IRIS Financials and later added Every and Payroll Services to create an integrated, automatically synchronised “single source of truth.” The solution removed repetitive manual updates across systems, delivered clearer financial tracking through double-entry accounting, enabled new capabilities (eg. accident tracking and a forthcoming parent portal), and won on cost, functionality, security and efficiency in Mellor’s procurement scoring. IRIS also provided hands-on support to resolve security and rollout issues, producing measurable time savings and streamlined operations for the school.
