Upp automates fiber design for 1 million premises with IQGeo

Upp, a full-fiber network provider, planned to deploy its network to one million premises in eastern England by 2025. Facing a significant shortage of fiber network designers in the UK, their challenge was to find a solution that would automate the design process to overcome this resource constraint and integrate inventory capabilities. To meet this challenge, they partnered with vendor IQGeo.

IQGeo implemented its Comsof Fiber auto design software, integrated with the GE Digital Smallworld Network Inventory solution. This solution enabled Upp to automatically design an error-free network, which significantly sped up the rollout process while keeping build costs low. The automation provided by IQGeo allowed Upp's fiber-optic network planning to rapidly scale to meet their ambitious deployment goals.
