The City of Huntington Beach faced chronic problems with its beachfront and sports-complex multi-space pay stations — frequent battery replacements, corroded daisy-chained copper wiring in a salty environment, slow credit-card processing that caused long lines, and machines that only supported one fixed rate. To address these issues the City worked with IPS Group, Inc., installing IPS upgrade kits on existing Digital Luke 1 and VenTek 400 pay stations to modernize payment capabilities while preserving the current housings.

IPS Group, Inc. supplied compact upgrade kits that added wireless communications, a faster card reader, single-sided thermal printer, multilingual backlit displays and IntelliTouch™ payment flow. The upgrades cut transaction times from minutes to seconds, reduced battery and maintenance demands, enabled on-site repairs in minutes, improved safety for collections staff, and extended the life of the City’s equipment — delivering faster service and lower operating costs.
