Rabobank, one of the world’s largest banks, needed a better way to onboard 18-year-old customers who wanted an adult account without having to visit a branch. Working with iProov and InnoValor, the bank set out to move its identity verification process onto mobile devices and make digital onboarding more appealing to digital natives.

iProov’s Genuine Presence Assurance was used alongside InnoValor’s remote ID document checking to create a mobile onboarding app using NFC, OCR, and biometric authentication. The approach reduced drop-off, improved compliance, and scaled successfully to 300 customers per day, helping Rabobank grow its mobile onboarding channel share from 35% to 60% in 2020.
