Case Study: LiKE advances sustainable product development with iPoint Systems

The customer, LiKE, faced the challenge of transforming components for energy transmission networks into more sustainable and recyclable products. To achieve this, they required support in integrating ecological principles and circular economy strategies directly into their product development process, and they partnered with iPoint Systems for a solution.

iPoint Systems implemented its software, specifically Umberto and the iPoint Product Sustainability web application, to embed life cycle assessment (LCA) and circular economy principles into LiKE's early development phases. This allowed the project to successfully revise key components, including an electrical machine and a high-speed switching unit, to reduce their carbon footprint and enhance their recyclability through resource-conserving lightweight construction technologies.
