The customer, COOLBat, sought to reduce CO₂ emissions by developing lightweight battery housings for electromobility. They faced the challenge of ecologically evaluating these new materials and manufacturing processes across the entire product life cycle. To meet this challenge, they engaged vendor iPoint Systems.

iPoint Systems implemented a solution using their software, Umberto, and the iPoint Product Sustainability web application. These tools were used to conduct a comprehensive life cycle assessment (LCA) that modeled different scenarios, enabling COOLBat to optimize its designs for resource efficiency and reduced environmental impact throughout the product's lifespan.
