ACTion - Customer Case Study

The customer, ACTion, a research consortium focused on automotive innovation, embarked on a project to advance lightweight design using complex sandwich structures and the IQ-Foam process. Their challenge was to integrate a multidisciplinary life cycle engineering approach to automatically collect and analyze manufacturing data in real time for these new materials. To address this, they partnered with vendor iPoint Systems.

iPoint Systems provided an interface solution to automate the collection and analysis of manufacturing data. Their LCA software, Umberto, was used to model and assess this data, enabling the consortium to identify and visualize the potential environmental impacts and costs associated with their new manufacturing process for lightweight automotive components.
