Hitachi Data Systems Chooses iPass to Keep Their Road Warriors Connected and Their IT Environment Secure

Hitachi Data Systems, a global enterprise with a large mobile workforce, needed a way to keep road warriors productive while protecting company data. Their employees were relying on unsecured public Wi-Fi and costly roaming charges, creating both security risks and unpredictable connectivity expenses. To solve this, Hitachi Data Systems turned to iPass Inc. and its global Wi-Fi connectivity service.

iPass Inc. implemented simple, secure, always-on Wi-Fi access across unlimited devices and more than 57 million hotspots in over 120 countries. Using security features like Last Mile VPN and one-time passwords, iPass helped strengthen HDS’s Wi-Fi environment while lowering alternate connectivity costs and making expenses more predictable. The result was a more secure, convenient mobile experience, with about 60 users relying on iPass to get their work done and an easier renewal decision for IT.
