Malgré Tout is a free online lifestyle magazine focused on equestrian life (website, newsletter and a digital magazine published six times a year) that needed a way to deliver a beautiful reading experience, attract readers across devices, and — crucially — monetize through advertising despite offering free content. To solve this they adopted the iPaper flipbook platform as their central publishing channel, reaching about 45,000 users per month and 19,209 visitors to the December 2016 catalogue.

Using iPaper’s responsive flipbook, design layer and heat-map analytics, Malgré Tout built a business model selling single pages, double spreads and digital inserts while proving ad performance to customers. iPaper’s heat maps gave advertisers detailed engagement data, the magazine was even shown on 75 iPads at a horse fair, and the platform directly enabled ad sales and better targeting — driving measurable audience engagement and increased advertiser confidence for Malgré Tout.
