NTT DATA lowers network total cost of ownership with IP Infusion

NTT DATA, a global IT and business services leader, sought to help network operators move away from expensive, single-vendor hardware stacks toward open, standards-based architectures. The challenge was to deliver this network disaggregation at a carrier scale, which required more than just software; it needed a full systems integration approach. To address this, NTT DATA partnered with vendor IP Infusion and its OcNOS networking software.

The solution involved IP Infusion providing its OcNOS software portfolio to power a range of white box hardware solutions, including Cell Site Routers and Routed Optical Networking. This partnership gave joint customers a broader choice of hardware, a more flexible supply chain, and a significantly lower total cost of ownership compared to traditional integrated platforms. The collaboration, initiated through the Telecom Infra Project, established a validated and field-tested approach to accelerating network disaggregation.
