Hall AG, operating under the IT brand Citynet, is a municipal services provider in Austria that faced growing bandwidth demands from its 5,000 customers. The challenge was compounded by pandemic-era hardware shortages and the high cost and limited upgrade paths of its existing Cisco backbone network. To address this, the company turned to vendor IP Infusion for a solution using its OcNOS software.

IP Infusion implemented its OcNOS network operating system on Edgecore hardware, which was readily available and price competitive. This solution provided an industry-standard CLI for an easier transition and the extensive feature set needed for a provider backbone. The result was a successful upgrade to a 100Gbps open networking platform across Europe, eliminating single-vendor supply constraints and positioning the network for future growth.
