eww ITandTEL upgrades from 100G to 400G with IP Infusion

eww ITandTEL, an Austrian IT and telecommunications provider, faced the challenge of scaling its MPLS backbone beyond 100G while avoiding vendor lock-in from proprietary chassis systems. They needed to collapse their IP and optical layers to simplify operations and control costs while preserving sovereign, reliable service for their regional customers. To address this, they partnered with vendor IP Infusion.

The solution implemented was IP Infusion's OcNOS-SP-PLUS software running on high-performance whitebox platforms. This created a 400G IPoDWDM architecture using ZR+ coherent optics, which collapsed the network into a single layer. The results included a successful migration to a 400G backbone, deployment across a multi-vendor whitebox fabric, and a reduced total cost of ownership through open networking disaggregation, giving the operator greater control, visibility, and operational efficiency.
