ASOM-Net scales 400G network for 75,000 subscribers with IP Infusion

ASOM-Net, a non-profit Danish ISP, needed to scale its network to 400G for its 75,000 subscribers while avoiding the high costs and inflexibility of traditional vendor-locked systems. The challenge was to achieve this performance with a lower equipment footprint, power draw, and total cost of ownership to pass savings back to its members.

The solution from IP Infusion involved deploying its OcNOS SP software on white box switches with embedded 400G ZR+ optics, creating a collapsed IPoDWDM design. This open, multi-vendor approach resulted in a lower total cost of ownership driven by reduced equipment count, power, and rack space. ASOM-Net gained the flexibility to choose best-of-breed elements for each network layer while delivering stronger services.
