Asia Pacific Telecom deploys 5,000+ cell site routers with IP Infusion

Asia Pacific Telecom, a Taiwan-based wireless telecom provider, needed to build a fast and reliable 5G network capable of handling increased data volumes. The challenge was to avoid the high costs and vendor lock-in of traditional equipment while preserving its investment in existing infrastructure. To meet this challenge, APT selected a solution from vendor IP Infusion.

IP Infusion implemented its OcNOS SP network operating system on white box hardware for a disaggregated Cell Site Router solution. This deployment of over 5,000 routers provided the headroom to support 5G traffic demands across Taiwan, serving over 2 million subscribers. The solution resulted in significant CapEx and OpEx savings for Asia Pacific Telecom and enabled a seamless transition to open networks with greater control and agility.
