Amplex Internet, a regional ISP serving Ohio, faced the challenge of upgrading its carrier-class aggregation network without incurring the high cost and complexity of a full forklift replacement. They sought a lower-cost alternative to their incumbent vendor that would not sacrifice performance or reliability and would provide modern features like SR-MPLS.

The solution from IP Infusion was to deploy their OcNOS SP Aggregation Router on white-box hardware from Edgecore and UfiSpace. This open networking approach provided Amplex with modern carrier features, including SR-MPLS and sub 50-millisecond TI-LFA failover, while ensuring interoperability with existing equipment. The results gave Amplex more hardware choices to mitigate supply chain risk and a staged, cost-effective path to a 100GB core network.
