Breeze Airways, a startup airline focused on delivering “Seriously Nice” low-cost nonstop travel, needed a way to keep its customer-facing app reliable across iOS, Android, and web. During a major flight delay, a logic issue caused the app to incorrectly remove a flight and strip passengers of access to their boarding passes, creating an urgent need for a quick fix. Breeze Airways was using Ionic for its cross-platform mobile app development.
Using Ionic’s Live Updates, Breeze Airways pushed a code change in minutes to correct the flight logic and restore the missing flight in the app without waiting for an app store release. The result was a beautiful, functional one-codebase app across three platforms, faster response to critical issues, and lower development and staffing costs—helping Breeze Airways operate with about half the people per aircraft that many airlines employ while still maintaining a strong customer experience.
