To meet this challenge Centrica chose ION’s Commodities Openlink to support the shift from large, long‑term supply contracts to hundreds of short‑term renewable suppliers and more complex structured products.

ION implemented Openlink across Centrica’s front‑ and back‑office, enabling bespoke, template‑driven contracts with drag‑and‑drop configuration so a small back‑office team can update templates without IT. The solution delivers half‑hourly billing and forecasting, supports a big increase in PPAs, and — with a grid infrastructure for processing — has significantly reduced document generation time, helping Centrica turn market volatility into a practical business opportunity and make faster, more agile decisions.
