Skype in the Classroom Uses Live Events to Engage with Students

Skype in the Classroom is a free global community for K–12 educators that connects classrooms with experts and other schools through live broadcasts and chat events. High-profile guests and huge classroom demand created a flood of incoming questions and comments, so SITC needed robust control and moderation to keep events safe, organized, and appropriate for children.

SITC adopted the Engage platform to moderate live chat feeds and curate social content with pinboards. Engage let event teams screen and manage thousands of submissions (up to 12,000 per event), ensure only approved content reached classrooms, and showcase classroom tweets and posts during campaigns, enabling scalable, safe, and engaging live experiences.
