Ironman Launches Engaging Online Event Coverage for Fans

The Ironman Triathlon is one of the world’s most demanding long‑distance races—lasting 12+ hours and spanning swim, bike and run stages—which makes continuous, multi‑terrain reporting difficult. To provide comprehensive, real‑time coverage for fans and reporters, the Ironman media team sought an end‑to‑end live event content solution.

Using Rock Content’s Engage toolkit, Ironman built an immersive fan hub with live video, photos, expert analysis, spectator/journalist/participant updates, an Athlete Tracker and automatic multi‑language translation so global fans can follow competitors in real time. The rollout drove significant engagement: the GoPro Ironman World Championship recorded 60 million engagement minutes and an average time on page of about 26 minutes.
