Main Roads Western Australia - Customer Case Study

Main Roads Western Australia, the agency responsible for managing one of the world’s most expansive road networks, faced a fragmented safety process that relied on documents, spreadsheets, emails and intranet forms. That approach created heavy manual data entry, administrative delays, difficulty assigning and tracking actions, limited data for advanced reporting and a six‑week reporting lag. To modernise Health, Safety and Wellbeing (SHW) management, Main Roads selected INX Software and procured the INX InControl safety solution together with INX+BI for dashboard reporting.

INX Software implemented INX InControl (piloted then rolled out statewide on 1 July 2017) with INX+BI dashboards, training, cloud hosting and integrations. The system supports 13 event types (incidents, near misses, hazards, inspections, audits, safety observations, etc.), workflowed actions and robust reporting; it went live seamlessly and began capturing robust safety data from day one, averaging four event entries per day in the first week. INX Software’s solution is now the core SHW reporting system across Main Roads’ nine directorates and major contractors, improving timeliness of reporting, corrective‑action tracking and the organisation’s ability to analyse safety performance.
