NHS Test and Trace, a UK government body established to combat COVID-19, faced the challenge of connecting and uniting its rapidly formed network of over 40,000 employees and stakeholders spread across thousands of locations. Historically reliant on email, the organization needed a single, trusted source for critical communications to support an open culture and ensure all staff had timely, accurate information. To address this, they partnered with the vendor Invotra to implement a new intranet platform.

Invotra designed and launched a secure, collaborative intranet called "The Hub." The solution featured a searchable people directory, video broadcasting, collaborative groups, and social applications to foster connection among disparate staff. The results were significant, with users engaging with the platform over 340,000 times and the extranet portal receiving more than 17,000 unique external views. Invotra provided NHS Test and Trace with a unified and trusted communications channel that was vital for the organization's mission.
