The environmental organization Sierra Club needed a seamless and secure authentication method for its 600,000 members and employees to access its Invotra intranet. Their challenge was integrating with their existing Salesforce system to enable automatic sign-up and single sign-on (SSO), ensuring user roles from Salesforce controlled permissions on the Invotra platform and providing access from any mobile device.
Invotra implemented a Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) solution, configuring Salesforce as the identity provider and Invotra as the service provider. This allowed users to log in directly through Invotra or via their Salesforce account for a frictionless experience. The result was a significantly improved user experience with effortless SSO and enhanced security. Invotra also developed new portal functionality, providing members with secure, controlled access to collaborate and engage with content.
