Flick Electric expands invoicing capacity to 64,000 invoices per month

Flick Electric, a New Zealand electricity retailer that uses smart meter technology to pass wholesale rates through to customers, faced rapid growth that overwhelmed its billing systems. As customer counts jumped from about 1,200 to 16,000, their internal accounting crashed, collections were error-prone, and customer service had no direct access to balances. To solve this scaling challenge Flick Electric selected Invoiced’s cloud-based online billing and accounts receivable automation platform.

Invoiced was deployed in April 2016 and integrated via API, with a read-only permission level added to support customer service workflows. The platform is used daily by 21 staff members and now accurately processes upwards of 64,000 invoices per month, eliminating lost receivables, cutting manual spreadsheet work, and giving customers immediate access to balances — materially improving collections, team morale, and the overall customer experience.
