A INVERS Case Study
Seattle City Light, one of the nation’s largest public utilities, needed a better way to manage its growing fleet of more than 1,000 vehicles. Fleet Manager Rick Haggard set out to create a motor pool to right-size the fleet, reduce costs, and improve efficiency, and turned to INVERS for the reservation platform and KeyManager hardware to support the transition.
With INVERS providing the technology and support, Seattle City Light launched a shared-vehicle motor pool across multiple locations and trained employees on the new reservation and key-dispatch process. The program delivered major results: a fleet study showed 172 vehicles could be auctioned and replaced with a 68-vehicle motor pool, creating $3 million in first-year savings, and the organization has since expanded the motor pool by 55% while increasing utilization to two to three trips per vehicle per day.
