Service Group partnered with Inventive to salvage its Dealer Portal project after struggling with a legacy system that had more than 50 integrations, an outdated interface, and frequent outages that disrupted dealerships and customers. The goal was to replace the unstable, paper-based contracting process with a modern web application for F&I users to create, sign, remit, and void service contracts.
Inventive rebuilt the solution as a cloud-based Dealer Portal hosted in Azure, using .NET and React, and added a highly available cloud architecture, an abstraction layer between the mainframe and vendors, and a redesigned responsive UI. The result was a more reliable and user-friendly platform that reduced downtime, improved retention and acquisition, accelerated releases, and contributed to Service Group being acquired due to its superior technology solution.
