Old Dutch Foods, a long-established snack food manufacturer, needed to boost distribution efficiency and accuracy in its Atlantic Canada operations without expanding its workforce. They engaged Invata Intralogisitcs to redesign the distribution center and implement warehouse automation and serialization — including conveyors and sortation (Sliding Shoe Sorter), Invata’s Fasttrak® Warehouse Control System, and integration with JD Edwards ERP — to improve throughput, traceability, and reduce shrinkage.

Invata Intralogisitcs built a system that stages, serializes and batch-picks cases, scans and assigns serial numbers at induction, and sorts cartons by trailer for direct loading. The solution doubled throughput while using only half the labor, eliminated shipping errors that had exceeded 600 cases per month, and delivered end-to-end case traceability, lower per-unit costs and faster trailer turnaround.
