Destination Maternity - Customer Case Study

Destination Maternity, the world’s largest designer and retailer of maternity apparel, faced an outdated, highly manual, and fragmented distribution model that couldn’t support growing omni‑channel demands across retail, wholesale, e‑commerce and returns. To replace separate legacy systems and labor‑intensive pick‑and‑pack processes, Invata Intralogisitcs was engaged to design, build and operate a fully integrated omni‑channel fulfillment center using its automation (high‑speed shuttle ASRS, mini‑load crane ASRS, unit sorter, large put wall, wearable RF) and Invata’s Warehouse Execution System (WES).

Invata Intralogisitcs implemented a single inventory stream and WES‑driven continuous execution that multi‑tasks equipment and eliminates batch picking, enabling up to 433,000 units per day. The solution drove measurable gains: 100% increase in receiving capacity, 60% wholesale, 66% retail (now 40 vs 90 people), 240% e‑commerce capacity with an 82% reduction in touches, a 44% workforce reduction and a 7.3% annual freight cost savings, plus improved visibility, flexibility and faster time‑to‑fulfillment.
