Cleveland Brothers - Customer Case Study

Cleveland Brothers, one of the largest Caterpillar dealers, needed an omni-channel distribution solution to serve walk-in customers, will-call orders, route deliveries and branch replenishment while cutting receiving and fulfillment labor and integrating with their existing TecSys WMS. Invata Intralogisitcs was engaged to design and implement a batch picking and material handling solution, leveraging Invata’s FastTrak Warehouse Software and a tightly integrated conveyor, put-to-light and sortation system.

Invata Intralogisitcs implemented an eight-zone batch picking system with totes on a conveyor, receiving put walls with put-to-light, zone routing, consolidation/put walls and shipping sortation, with FastTrak bridging the TecSys WMS into a single common database. The solution improved walk-in and will-call service, met same- and next-day route and branch requirements, and dramatically reduced labor and increased fulfillment accuracy—slashing receiving and order-fulfillment labor and allowing the operation to run with comparatively few employees.
