Blood management company - Customer Case Study

Blood management company, a global leader in blood management solutions, needed to consolidate multiple outlying and 3PL distribution operations into a single, compliant facility while preserving FEFO lot-control/serialization, providing temperature-controlled storage for sensitive pharmaceuticals, and minimizing labor. They engaged Invata Intralogisitcs to determine facility size, select storage systems and design processes that would integrate with the company’s ERP/WMS and meet strict quality and handling requirements.

Invata Intralogisitcs designed and built a 145,000 sq. ft. distribution center with a 28,000 sq. ft. temperature-controlled “warehouse within a warehouse” using insulated vinyl curtain walls, a fenced quarantine area, deep-lane and selective racking, and optimized receiving/putaway/picking flows. Delivered on schedule, the solution enabled FEFO processing and lot/serialization compliance, reduced labor through space-efficient storage and handling methods, supported carton-to-pallet fulfillment, and allowed the Blood management company to close legacy facilities while maintaining national distribution and product quality.
