Genomics England, the UK Department of Health–owned organization running the 100,000 Genomes Project, needed a secure, centrally controlled environment to let researchers and clinicians analyze very large, sensitive genomic datasets while meeting NHS patient‑confidentiality and audit requirements. To prevent raw data exfiltration and avoid client‑side software management, Genomics England selected Inuvika’s OVD Enterprise to provide the required controlled access and “air‑lock” export workflows.

Inuvika implemented OVD Enterprise as an HTML5 gateway and published Windows/Linux desktops hosted inside Genomics England datacentres, so only encrypted screen, mouse and keyboard data leave the environment and client storage, USB and cut‑and‑paste are disabled. The Inuvika solution delivered policy‑based controls that let researchers retrieve de‑identified results and clinicians export audited reports while preventing raw data export, simplified secure access with no client installs or firewall changes, and centralized provisioning of apps and data to meet compliance needs.
