BT Connected Science secures access to petabyte-scale research data with Inuvika

BT Connected Science, a portfolio within BT Global Services providing managed IT services to the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry, faced the challenge of enabling secure, efficient collaboration for its clients on large-scale research projects within a highly regulated environment. The barriers included high up-front costs, complex security requirements, and the need to manipulate massive datasets. To address this, they partnered with vendor Inuvika to implement a solution using their OVD Enterprise product.

Inuvika's OVD Enterprise was selected as the access platform to deliver BT's Workbench Informatics solution, providing remote and secure browser-based access to customized Windows and Linux environments and multi-petabyte datasets. The solution eliminated the need for client software installation and simplified firewall configurations and user management. This enabled scientists to collaborate effectively across geographic boundaries while meeting strict regulatory requirements, helping BT's clients improve their time-to-market for new medicines.
