Case Study: Tannico (Italy’s largest online wine shop) achieves 94% product availability and up to 62% forecast-error reduction with Intuendi

A Intuendi Case Study

Preview of the Tannico Case Study

Tannico, increasing the offer and availability of products with a sustainable strategy

Tannico, the largest Italian wine shop founded in 2012, faced a 2018 challenge: expand its catalog and increase in‑stock availability to guarantee faster delivery times without overstocking or hurting margins. To maximize returns on planned inventory investments and better handle seasonality, promos and vintage-specific demand, Tannico partnered with Intuendi and adopted its demand‑forecasting solution (intuendi.com) to support buying and inventory decisions.

Intuendi analyzed Tannico’s data, modeled seasonality and causal factors, and implemented an AI-driven, top‑down forecasting approach with vintage-aware data representation; buyers used Intuendi’s forecasts to set optimal stock levels. The results: a 36% reduction in mean forecast error versus 2017 and a further 62% reduction versus 2018 (best MAE ≈3 units over 4 weeks), catalog growth from 10k to 15k SKUs (≈50%), 89% more units in stock and product availability up from 88% to 94%, alongside stronger sales and margins.
