TIES, an education technology collaborative serving Minnesota school districts, faced the need for a scalable, standards-based email archiving solution that could support independent district networks, reduce IT and litigation costs, and improve eDiscovery and compliance. After evaluating multiple options, TIES selected Intradyn’s Email Archiving Solution RS700-B4 to address heterogeneous environments (SMTP, LDAP, Active Directory, GroupWise) and meet district-level archiving requirements.

Intradyn deployed the RS700-B4 appliance, which now supports six school districts with 400–1,500 mailboxes per district and archives over 1,000,000 messages per month; its 4TB capacity and deduplication enable large-scale retention and organized mail stores. The solution reduced total cost of ownership by allowing a shared-appliance, subscription-based model (with tape backups), improved eDiscovery and compliance, and delivered responsive vendor support from Intradyn for customization and rapid issue resolution.
