Crane Aerospace and Electronics, a designer and manufacturer of critical systems for aerospace, defense, and space, faced yield problems driven by limited visibility into factors behind yield variation, disparate ATE systems and paper-based processes, retest and test-station validation inefficiencies, and the need for ITAR-compliant data security. To address these challenges they partnered with IntraStage and deployed its BlackBelt platform along with Paperless Manufacturing and a hybrid cloud approach for secure, customer-transparent data sharing.

IntraStage implemented stock and custom adapters to capture and normalize ATE data, supported high-volume manual capture (30k+ forms in six months) via Paperless Manufacturing, and delivered new analytics (Retest and Limit Simulation reports) within BlackBelt. The solution gave site-wide visibility into product performance and yield, proved fixture issues and justified new fixtures to boost efficiency, enabled one-click proof to customers to adopt customer-set spec limits (positively impacting yield), and saved Crane hundreds of man-hours while maintaining ITAR-compliant security.
