University of Colorado Denver - Customer Case Study

The University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus needed a better way to access and understand student data across a fragmented reporting environment. CU Online, a team within the university’s IT department, was relying on multiple small data warehouses and static PDF reports, making it difficult to support timely analysis and consistent data governance. InterWorks helped the university begin exploring Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server as part of its analytics modernization.

InterWorks worked with CU Denver | AMC to build a “Deans Dashboard” in Tableau, improve data quality on the back end, and lay the groundwork for an enterprise data warehouse using EXASOL. The dashboard helped replace manual weekly PDF reporting with more digestible, near-real-time visuals and sparked campus-wide interest in Tableau. As a result, CU Denver | AMC launched an internal Tableau User Group with 20 members and growing, approved a new Tableau Server Core license, and moved forward with EXASOL to strengthen data governance and support broader self-service analytics.
