Tulsa Tech - Customer Case Study

Tulsa Tech, Oklahoma’s largest career and technical education system, needed a better way to manage thousands of desktops across seven locations while supporting graphics-heavy coursework and frequent classroom software changes. InterWorks stepped in to help address these challenges with a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) approach, using VMware Horizon View Enterprise along with supporting tools and Dell hardware.

InterWorks implemented a 300-user VDI proof of concept that proved the environment could handle demanding workloads and provide users with portable, follow-me access to their apps and data. The results included improved performance, reduced IT workload, less classroom disruption, and lower computer refresh costs. InterWorks then helped Tulsa Tech expand the solution by adding 1,000 more clients, consolidating the data center to six Dell FX2 nodes, and strengthening backup and disaster recovery with Veeam and DR4300 appliances.
