Tulsa Tech consolidates two full racks to half a rack with InterWorks

Tulsa Tech, Oklahoma's largest career and technical education system, faced significant IT management challenges. With thousands of computers across seven locations, their support team struggled with remote management and the logistical burden of manually configuring software for different classes. They also needed a more powerful and cost-effective way to run graphic-intensive programs. Tulsa Tech selected InterWorks to implement a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution to address these issues.

InterWorks implemented a VDI solution using VMware Horizon View, supported by Dell and NVIDIA hardware. This allowed for centralized management of all desktops, enabling users to access their personalized applications and data from any device. The solution drastically reduced the number of physical computers needed, condensed the data center footprint from two full server racks to half a rack, and provided significant cost savings. For students and staff, this meant seamless remote access and uninterrupted learning with high-performance graphics capabilities.
