Meridian Technology Center supports 260 concurrent VDI sessions with InterWorks

Meridian Technology Center, a career technology center in Oklahoma, sought to improve remote access to educational resources and support a BYOD approach through desktop virtualization. Their unique challenge was the need to run graphic-intensive applications like AutoCAD and Revit for programs such as their Pre-Engineering Academy, which traditional VDI struggled to handle. They partnered with InterWorks to find a next-level solution.

InterWorks architected a VDI solution using NVIDIA GRID technology on Dell servers with VMware. This allowed for high-performance graphics in a virtualized environment. The implementation successfully supported 260 concurrent sessions, provided consistent performance for students and IT staff, and proved more cost-effective than traditional workstations. The partnership with InterWorks also helped Meridian reduce IT management overhead and move toward its campus-wide conservation goals.
