Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) partnered with InterWorks to redesign its website into a more intuitive information source for customers. KDOT needed a complete restructuring so users could quickly and easily find information relevant to them, and asked InterWorks to “dream big” and show what an ideal site could look like.

InterWorks led a phased custom development effort, starting with discovery interviews, surveys, and staff sessions to understand user needs and content workflows. InterWorks then created a new content strategy and remapped the site’s information architecture, delivering blueprints for the ideal website, an improved design, and a streamlined process for creating, uploading, and consuming content that empowered internal users to manage large amounts of content more easily.
