Foresight Group - Customer Case Study

Foresight Group, a leading independent infrastructure and private equity investment manager, needed live reporting and clearer visibility into financial data for senior stakeholders and investors. With Tableau already in place, they turned to InterWorks for help building a custom Tableau web connector to pull data from Xero, a cloud-based accounting platform, since no native Tableau connector existed.

InterWorks created a tailored data solution with an API and MySQL cloud-hosted repository, wrote custom SQL queries to reshape the data for Tableau, and supported dashboard refinement and adoption through Tableau Consulting and InterWorks Assist. As a result, Foresight moved away from Excel reporting, gained faster and clearer insight into KPI performance versus expected values, and built a more scalable reporting foundation that later supported a move to Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
