City of Philadelphia delivers retail reporting on time and under budget with InterWorks

The City of Philadelphia, specifically its Center City District, faced a challenge in reporting on and storing information about the city's retail businesses, which was housed in a series of spreadsheets. They engaged InterWorks to architect a data warehouse solution to facilitate this reporting.

InterWorks implemented a SQL Server 2008 database with a dimensional schema and used SQL Server Integration Services for the ETL process. This solution enabled the customer to build Tableau visualizations. InterWorks delivered the data warehouse on time and under budget. The resulting retail reporting is highly visible within the City of Philadelphia and has been very well received.
