Center City District, part of the City of Philadelphia, needed a way to store and report on retail business information collected in spreadsheet form. InterWorks was brought in to architect a data warehouse solution that would support reporting and visualization of the city’s retail data, using Tableau as part of the end-user reporting environment.

InterWorks reviewed the spreadsheet data, built a dimensional schema, and implemented it in a SQL Server 2008 database with ETL handled through SQL Server Integration Services. InterWorks also provided Tableau training and assistance. The project was delivered on time and under budget, and the resulting retail reporting initiative was highly visible within the City of Philadelphia and very well received.
