Carnegie Mellon University - Customer Case Study

Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business faced a major data-management challenge as it considered overhauling its data evaluation process, including building a central data warehouse from multiple source systems and making information easier for end users to understand. To support this effort, Carnegie Mellon University chose Tableau Software, with InterWorks brought in to help assess needs and guide the business intelligence implementation.

InterWorks consultant Eric Shiarla evaluated the school’s requirements, planned an onsite consulting strategy, and worked with multiple units to design dashboards and data exploration workflows. InterWorks also delivered a modified single-day workshop to keep the project moving and train faculty and staff quickly. As a result, the Carnegie Mellon University team began creating their own reports and customized dashboards, improving self-service analytics and streamlining data analysis through a more optimized data management system.
