A InterSystems Case Study
United Family Healthcare (UFH), the largest US‑headquartered healthcare organization in China with multiple hospitals and clinics nationwide, needed to scale a patient‑centric, family‑style care model while maintaining strict standards and a unified platform. The challenge was to combine Western medical information technology with UFH’s personalized care approach and replace fragmented, paper‑based processes across its network.
UFH implemented the InterSystems TrakCare unified healthcare information system to aggregate data into a single EMR, standardize workflows, and give clinicians a consolidated patient view. The rollout reduced paper errors, improved nursing, pharmacy and imaging workflows, enabled appointment reminders and trans‑regional diagnosis, and delivered data insights for population health — helping Beijing United Family Hospital achieve HIMSS Stage 6 and JCI recognition and positioning UFH to expand integrated, community and home‑based care.
