A InterSystems Case Study
Santorso Hospital in Santorso, Italy, part of ULSS 4 Alto Vicentino, adopted an innovative patient-centered model that keeps patients in multi-disciplinary wards based on care intensity rather than moving them between specialist departments. To support this transformation the hospital needed a consolidated, interoperable patient record and a rapid, low‑cost implementation that would let clinicians and administrators share information across departments and with the community.
Santorso implemented InterSystems trakCare (Italian Country Edition) using the arIeS rapid‑deployment methodology, delivering an internet‑based unified electronic patient record on a single database. The result was faster implementation and lower maintenance costs, real‑time access to bed status, medications and alerts, reduced duplicate tests, improved clinical decision‑making and accountability, and an overall rise in quality of care and connectivity with the community.
