Spectrum Health Selects Ensemble For Enterprise-Wide Integration

Spectrum Health, a not-for-profit integrated health system in West Michigan with seven hospitals, more than 140 service sites and a large health plan, needed to modernize and unify its IT integration across the enterprise. Facing the limits of point-to-point HL7 messaging, the organization sought a platform to accelerate interface development, support a services-oriented architecture and enable a federated environment where partners could apply tailored business rules — all to meet its goal of becoming the nation’s highest-quality healthcare enterprise.

Spectrum Health selected InterSystems Ensemble as its core integration platform to provide rapid development, deployment and SOA-ready capabilities. Ensemble — ranked number one by KLAS for interface engines — went live first for the MUSE Cardiology system and is being rolled out across all application and data interfaces on an aggressive timeline, delivering greater agility, faster solution delivery and a foundation for connected, higher-quality care.
