CBT Software AG is a Swiss full-service IT provider known for its agris® quattro and artos® quattro agribusiness suites. After decades of development, their legacy 4-GL database hit performance and scalability limits as customers grew from single PCs to multi-workstation environments, prompting the need for a modern, high‑performance, cost‑effective database that would serve both small farms and larger industrial clients.

CBT migrated most modules to the InterSystems Caché object database and used InterSystems Ensemble for integration, delivering much higher throughput, seamless scalability, reduced hardware costs, and enterprise reliability (shadowing/clustering). The team also built a web procurement and dispatch platform for Allianz Ost Gemüse AG that automates orders, optimizes distribution, cut costs, increased Swiss-sourced produce, and went live on a tight seven‑month schedule with InterSystems’ support—enabling new customers and an end‑to‑end “field‑to‑store” solution.
